My Journey
Driven by my chosen fast-paced career path in the corporate world, I found that over time a deep sense of ‘ennui’ engulfed me. An encompassing feeling of listlessness and sheer exhaustion compromised my ability to enjoy even the simple pleasures of work and play. My brain felt it was exploding, my mind was muddled and my body was sick. I soon realised that in order to return to wellness I needed to engage with my whole body and mind system. I had always been passionate about humankind and mental health and while on a much-needed sabbatical, I decided my purpose was in the profession of Psychotherapy.
“Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going inside ourselves.” - Bessel Van Der Kolk, The Body Keeps The Score
MY PRACTICE
I completed my training as a Soul Centred Psychotherapist, a Jungian based therapy, which achieves psychological healing and wellness by aligning conscious and unconscious aspects of the personality. Soul Centred Psychotherapy (SCP) thus facilitates an awareness between our everyday sense of self and other layers of our consciousness. By attending to our inner relationship we are able to gain insight into the internal dynamics that determine our thoughts, moods and behaviours, with ourselves and others. Enabling the development of a more vital relationship with our whole self.
My therapeutic approach is not necessarily about ‘fixing something that is broken’, rather attending to how the language of the psyche and body manifest into our daily lives. I will work with you to better understand your conscious and unconscious patterns that may be disrupting your present experience.
In my practice I utilise several key SCP modalities such as Thought Matrix Meridian (EFT); BiLateral Process Stimulation (EMDR); Working with Parts; Dream Therapy; Focussing alongside my other learnings such as Intuitive Guided Drawing; Creative Therapy; Shame (Sexuality); Addiction; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Psychotherapy and Buddhism; Grief and Liminality; Attachment Theory and Relationship Counselling.
The Association of Soul Centred Psychotherapists (ASCP) of which I am a Clinical Member , is a constituent member of The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). My PACFA Clinical Registration no 26783. I work in accordance with PACFA's code of Ethics. I am a member of The Jungian Society Melbourne. I hold a BA(Hons) Humanities and Cultural Studies; M.Res(MA) Cultural Studies; GradDip IT& Politics; Dip Soul Centred Psychotherapy.
